Hot-Dip Galvanizing Against Corrosion

Graepel-STUV GmbH in Seehausen has its own galvanizing shop with an annual capacity of 6,000 t. Not only do we apply a durable and effective corrosion protection coating onto our products but we also offer this service to companies and private customers in compliance with DIN ISO EN 1461.

Our certifications:

  • DIN EN ISO 9002 (since 1993)
  • DIN EN ISO 14001 (since 2009)
  • DASt-Richtlinie 022 (DASt directive 022) -> Ü-mark (since 2009)

The hot-dip galvanizing process:

tieing-on
pickling
pickling 2
pickling 3
before immersion in the zinc bath
in the zinc bath
withdrawn from the zinc bath
withdrawn from the zinc bath 2
tieing-off
ready for dispatch
transport

The steel parts are immersed in a liquid zinc bath at a temperature of about 450 °C and remain inside the bath until the material has assumed the temperature of the zinc bath. The galvanizing process is completed. The coating-thickness depends on the material thickness and is between 50 – 100 µm.

Advantages:

  • durable corrosion protection, the annual erosion rate for hot-dip galvanized parts in standard atmosphere is about 1 µm per year
  • high impact strength
  • no peeling off

If you would like to make use of our galvanizing service, please observe the parameters below:

1. Tieing dimensions:
  • maximum length = 6.50 m
  • maximum width = 0.80 m
  • maximum height = 1.80 m
2. Loads:
  • maximum load per crossbeam: up to 1.4 t
  • individual load without crossbeam: up to 2.0 t (on request)
