Hot-Dip Galvanizing Against Corrosion
Graepel-STUV GmbH in Seehausen has its own galvanizing shop with an annual capacity of 6,000 t. Not only do we apply a durable and effective corrosion protection coating onto our products but we also offer this service to companies and private customers in compliance with DIN ISO EN 1461.
Our certifications:
- DIN EN ISO 9002 (since 1993)
- DIN EN ISO 14001 (since 2009)
- DASt-Richtlinie 022 (DASt directive 022) -> Ü-mark (since 2009)
The hot-dip galvanizing process:
The steel parts are immersed in a liquid zinc bath at a temperature of about 450 °C and remain inside the bath until the material has assumed the temperature of the zinc bath. The galvanizing process is completed. The coating-thickness depends on the material thickness and is between 50 – 100 µm.
Advantages:
- durable corrosion protection, the annual erosion rate for hot-dip galvanized parts in standard atmosphere is about 1 µm per year
- high impact strength
- no peeling off
