The Graepel History

Leading in the field of perforated sheet processing for over 115 years.

Hugo Graepel produces the first perforated sheets in Budapest.

Claudius Graepel establishes a factory for perforated sheets and their processing in Hanover;
production of the first “Graepel sieve”.

Relocation of the company to Halberstadt, where up to 400 people produce perforated sheets, threshing machines, radiator grilles as well as over 40 other, often patented, products.

After dispossession in Halberstadt, new start in West Germany. Production restarts in Wilhelmshaven.

Move to the present location in Löningen; first apprentices begin their vocational training.

Construction of a new building for toolmaking. Production of anti-skid safety gratings for plant engineering and vehicle construction, and for the building, mining and food industries.

Transformation from a private company into a stock corporation. All shares are held by the Graepel family.

Takeover of “Stalltechnik und Verzinkung Seehausen/Altmark GmbH (STUV)” as a 100 % subsidiary. Friedrich Claudius Graepel moves the “underfoot safety” production line there.

Start of production of luggage compartment covers and sidewall cladding for buses.

Completion of spin-off of the subsidiary, name changes to Graepel-STUV GmbH.

Founding of Graepel Bozankaya Otomotiv San. Ltd. Sti. in Sincan, Ankara.

Founding of Graepel Mitarbeiter-Beteiligungs GmbH, an employee shareholding company, to allow employees to participate in corporate success. New production buildings erected in Löningen (2,000 m2) and Seehausen (2,500 m2) for increase in capacity.

Founding of Graepel North America Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska.

New administration building erected in Löningen.

New production halls equipped with machinery erected in Lönigen and Seehausen.

Graepel North America Inc., Omaha, Nebraska expanded as production site.
