Underfoot Safety with Funciton and Design
In addition to reliability and safety, the design of construction machinery, such as wheel and hydraulic excavators, front-end loaders and crawler vehicles, meeting the exact requirements of the operator becomes more and more important. Graepel steps and ladders fulfill all demands concerning design and function on the highest level. They are available in a wide range of perforations, are extremely robust due to high-quality materials and are tailor-made meeting the exact specifications of the customer. Graepel is perfectly equipped for the serial production of steps and guarantees a high level of economic efficiency for small as well as large quantities.

For wheel excavators, we have developed assemblies which can be used wherever differences in height must be overcome on construction machinery. For example, we manufacture two- or three-level steps for accessing the driver's cab. They are fitted in between the wheels and can vary in length depending on the manufacturer and type. The perforation Graepel Round S ensures slip resistance. These steps, which can also be combined with an integrated, lockable tool box, come as a complete assembly. The tool box can be made of painted steel, galvanized steel or plastic as requested by the customer.
Another assembly serves as steps for the upper structure. The three-level steps are made of steel and have the perforation Graepel Round S with integrated railing. Their color is specified by the customer.
Hydraulic Power Units

Underfoot safety on hydraulic power units is provided by the platform and ladder with integrated railing. This assembly is made of steel, Graepel Round S-perforated and equipped with a perforated stepping edge. In a final step, it is painted according to the customer's standard and specifications.
Crawler Vehicles

Special solutions were designed for crawler vehicles, such as removable two-level steps which can be attached as necessary, fold-away steps for use on heavy construction equipment which can also be used as a stairway when folded out, or steps consisting of a treadboard, which is accessible via a fold-away ladder, for climbing machines.
