Graepel-Metric
Graepel-Metric is a C-shaped, canted metal profile grating. The embossment is a variant of Graepel-Universal: The hole diameters are the same (upward-facing d = 7 mm and downward-facing d = 14 mm), the lengthwise divider measures 30 mm (40 mm with Graepel-Universal). The grating width can be manufactured in sections of 25 mm (30 mm with Graepel-Universal). This smaller hole spacing gives this perforation a different appearance, characteristic and functionality. It looks light and more transparent. With an open cross-section of 32 % in the maximum embossed field of 475 mm wide, its open area is larger than the Graepel-Universal. Graepel-Metric has also high slip resistance values as well as a good drainage effect.
The term is based on its primary use in the industrial sector: Due to their width divider, metal profile gratings of Graepel-Metric perforation are especially suitable to cover surfaces that have at least one metric side length (1,000, 2,000 mm etc.) with standard gratings. This eliminates the need for gratings that for other embossments would have to be specially designed and manufactured.
Ladder rungs are also available using the Graepel-Metric embossment design.
