1889

Hugo Graepel (b. 1851 d. 1909) starts manufacturing perforated metal sheets in Budapest.

1908

Claudius Graepel (b. 1854 d. 1925) sets up a factory for the production and processing of perforated metal sheets at Hanover. The first “Graepel sieve” is made.

1915

Transfer of the company from Hannover to Halberstadt. Up to 400 people are employed to produce perforated sheets, threshing machines, radiator grills as well as more than 40 other articles, many of them patent-registered..

Friedrich Graepel (b. 1891 - d. 1974) joins the company. He applies for the rights of 70 inventions and patents.

1946

After the Russian occupation of Eastern Germany and expropriation of the company it is relocated in West Germany and production starts again at Wilhelmshaven.

1948

The company moves to its present location in Löningen. 20-25 people are employed. The first trainees start their apprenticeship.

1953

New silos for the storage and drainage of grain are deve-loped and presented to the market for the first time at the DLG exhibition at Cologne.

1959

Harald Graepel founds the company Graepel Perforators Ltd. in Kinsale (Ireland), and production of perforated metal commences. (The companies in Ireland, Great Britain and Italy are independent and do not belong to the Friedrich Graepel AG.)

1965

Friedrich Claudius Graepel (b. 1942 d. 2001) joins the Company in Löningen..

1967

Riko Werner Graepel founds the company Graepel Italiana at Sabbioneta (Italy), now Graepel Italiana S.p.A. (The companies in Ireland, Great Britain and Italy are independent and do not belong to the Friedrich Graepel AG.)

1969

Production of step-treads for trucks is started in Löningen. Growing requirements are the reason for a growing machinery park.

Graepel Perforators Ltd. (Ireland) takes over a competitor at Warrington (England).

Graepel commences the production of woven mesh in Kinsale (Ireland).

1991

"Stalltechnik und Verzinkung Seehausen (Altmark)" (STUV) is renamed as "Stahltechnik und Verzinkung" and is taken over as a 100% owned daughter company of the Friedrich Graepel AG.

1996

The company at Seehausen becomes independent by taking over the "Safety Under Foot" production line. The company name is now Graepel-STUV GmbH.

2003

The company Graepel-Bozankaya Otomotiv San. Ltd. Sti. is founded in Sincan/Ankara.

2004

In order to let the Graepel employees participate in the success of the company, the foundation of the Graepel-Mitarbeiter-Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH is initiated. The extension of capacities is made possible by the construction of new halls in Löningen (2,000 m²) and in Seehausen (2,500 m²).

In July, Graepel sells its part of the Graepel-Bozankaya Joint Venture.

Graepel celebrates its 125th anniversary with members of the Graepel family, employees, customers and guests from politics and industry.

Graepel North America Inc. enlarges its production facilities and invests in new machinery and its own production hall in Omaha, Lynam Drive.

The celebration on the occasion of Graepel’s 125th year anniversary took place on 19th of March 2014 at the parent company in Loeningen. More than one hundred guests, among them some of our longstanding customers, members of the Graepel family as well as some high-ranking guests representing politics and economics, joined the celebration.
