Graepel has acquired Solvaro

Today, Friedrich Graepel AG announced that Solvaro GmbH will become an independent subsidiary of Graepel with immediate effect. Graepel is taking over the shares from varomexx Beteiligungen GmbH, which held 100 percent of Solvaro. Solvaro GmbH will continue to exist as a company. After a transition and integration phase, the company will be renamed Graepel. Friedrich Graepel AG now employs around 1,000 people and unites seven subsidiaries in Germany, Hungary, the USA and India.

Graepel is a renowned specialist for individual components and innovative metal products. With the transaction, the family-owned company with a tradition of over 130 years is further expanding its market position and extending its presence and product range in the field of perforated sheets, for example for filters and server cabinets. Customers will benefit from synergies and a combined knowledge advantage in product development as well as even closer cooperation with experienced experts who specialize in the respective customer requirements.

"The transaction of Solvaro was part of a strategic development. As no family succession was planned, we saw the divestment as the best opportunity to place the company in good hands and secure long-term growth," explains Stephan Geiger, Managing Director of the seller varomexx.

Felix Graepel, who together with his brother Carlo Graepel is a member of the Friedrich Graepel AG Executive Board, emphasizes: "There are no plans to cut jobs at the individual locations. We want to continue to grow with the existing workforce. Of course, we will look at how and where we can optimize our structure and organization. This is a normal and evolving process. Our focus is clearly on growth and further development for the company and our staff members."

Graepel recently presented its new positioning, underlining its international focus and future strategy of remaining a global leader in its industry. "Through the merger, we are strengthening our market presence in Europe in particular, and we are gaining new customers and segments," the Graepel brothers are excited to say.
