Wide, strong, safe: Graepel’s new deck plates for commercial vehicles look great. So much so that a German manufacturer has added them to its accessories catalog. This means: Big rig drivers can also retrofit them now.
The full range, please: When it comes to tread plates, Mercedes-Benz went all in with its Actros Edition 2. Both in front of and behind the fifth wheel, fine aluminum sheets cover the view on the vehicle frame. In the fairing, the manufacturer also replaced the standard plastic steps with robust metal steps from Graepel.
The new steps increase safety in all weather conditions and should last for the life of the truck. They are made as a single piece in black coated aluminum with the embossment “anti-slip, round”. They can be retrofitted on production vehicles. The deck plates for the area behind the driver’s cab are also available in the manufacturer’s shop. They serve a double function because they also protect the structure from debris that is thrown up from below.
Thanks to Graepel’s initiative, Mercedes-Benz has included the high-quality steps in its range of aftermarket accessories. Heinrich Wesselmann, the new head of sales at Graepel since October 2020, knows why: People like to work on solutions that offer everyone a genuine added value. It is great that the customer from Stuttgart also sees it that way and that truckers are excited about this development.
